Johnson Paste Wax

Liquid Johnson Wax and Lee Alox (40-60 mix?) for Lead Free
Performance with Cast Boolits in Revolver/Rifle Barrels.

I no longer use that Ketchup Bottle. I have two Lee Bottles
now to make the mix. A very little goes a long ways, 5-6 drops
for 50 45Colt Boolits.

Any of you guys bought any Johnson's LIQUID Paste Wax lately?

As I understood it, they quit making it a few years ago.
Last time I tried to buy some I found a can just like the one in this photo for sale on eBay - for $100 a can!

I was advised that brasswinds and saxophones are stripped down and bodies etc etc are waxed with Johnson's by cruise ship musicians.

Unless I use wash coats of Parks Sanding Sealer on my string instrument necks I use Johnson's.
Maple
Mahogany
Rosewood
Ebony
No paint necessary! :D

Just remembered: that's the wax we would melt and use to "spit shine" the barrack's floors.
Three roommates at tech school, Lowry '66, lit the floor/room on fire because they weren't going to be B52 Gunners.
That was after they dyed their hair orange and didn't get the LT's full attention.

Over on the CB forum it seems Lundmark liquid wax has become the replacement

It was slick. Get a good running start with socks on and you could slide 15-20 feet down the hall.
Fun memories, thanks.

That does bring back memories indeed. My maternal grandparents had wood floors in a huge den. There was a short hall and a back bedroom at the back side. I could get a running start and be at full speed coming out the hall into the den. I was able to get 2 360 turns in by the time I had slid 20-25 feet to a stop. Loads of fun and never a splinter in that floor.

It is a great release agent when you are glassing a stock.

Indeed.

I used to use it or Minwax as rust protection on my woodworking machinery.

You don't want anything with silicon contacting unfinished wood.

I have plenty of experience with Johnson Paste Wax , Mom would put me to work on the living and dinning room floors. I learned during summer break to hit the door and be gone!
