I'm looking to throw an optic on my C.O.R.E. 5". I don't really want to spend the $$ on the RMR at this point and have been looking a lot at the JPoint. Has anyone mounted a JPoint on their CORE (or other handguns)? What would you suggest? Most web site reviews thus far are pretty decent. A person can pick one up from Optics Planet for $222 which includes a 10% off coupon for fathers day and free shipping...pretty darn tempting. Let me know what you think. Thanks

according to this list you should be able to with out issues:

"The pistol supports optics from Trijicon, C-More, Leupold, Docter, Insight and JPoint."

I ordered the Jpoint for my 5" CORE with the coupon that came with the gun. It was the cheapest way to go but I'm glad I did. I like it a lot and it works well. I let a friend shoot the M&P with the Jpoint last weekend and when he was done he looked at me and said "that's cheating!". It's that good. Plus if the optic were to die I can still see the sights.

The JPOINT is a pretty low quality optic. I would stick with an RMR.

My concern was about the quality and "ruggedness" of the JPoint. I treat my weapons and accessories very well but in the same sense the more you train the more likely it is to beat things around a little bit. To those of you whom posted that you have the JPoint and use them, do they feel fairly rugged? I like the price point of the JPoint and it gets good reviews but I would hate to purchase it and a month or two later wish I would have went with the RMR. Thanks for your input!

Guess it depends on the purpose. Joint seems fine for the range. Nightstand duty I'd opt for a RMR.

It would be used for competition shooting as well as the potential for duty usage. I will probably hold off for an RMR or maybe even look at the Insight MRDS. Thank you all for your advise.

mounted jpoint on my core

I mounted the jpoint on my core and absolutely love it. Go with 4moa. You cant go wrong with it. RMR is just the overpriced optic. I get and see same quality from my vortex Redford and jpoint. You ought to get the jpoint.
