Just picked up this 317, serial number LGT8XXX today. I believe it is from 1997 or so.
It has been fired, but once it is cleaned up, I am sure it will look just like new. The front of cylinder needs to be cleaned due to the carbon on it. The previous owner got most of it out, but there is still some there. I have a polishing cloth than removed lead, carbon, and other stuff from stainless steel guns which works really well. I know the 317 isn't stainless steel, and that this polishing cloth is abrasive as it is recommended not to be used on blued surfaces as it will take the blue off.
Can I use this polishing cloth on the 317 without causing any damage to the finish?
Thank you.
