My wife is doing laundry and just brought me two bright shiney FMJ .38 Super rounds that were still warm and smelled April fresh. I must have left them in my pocket when I was shooting Sunday....:o

So... Just how hot does a Maytag dryer get?
Pretty damn hot but not hot enough to cook off Aquila .38 Supers!:D

I don’t know how hot a dryer gets, but Mrs. Chad gets pretty hot when I leave a disposable lighter or a tube of Chapstick in my pants. :o

Thanks to the forum, I now know that Spyderco knives and ammo isn’t good either. ;)

Don't feel bad. I washed my wallet, and everything in it, a few weeks ago. :( No money laundering was involved, though. I don't have any money! :D

Is that the first time youv'e done that? rookie..............:D Pistols and rifle cartridges, lighters, change, compasses, cell phones, wallets, shotgun shells. Heck, I recognize the sounf of a Case Sod Buster Jr. now.

My wife washed & dryed my No. American Arms .22 Mini revolver. It was loaded of course. It was in my Levis back pocket. No harm done to pistol or washer or dryer. I didn't try the ammo however. After a good oiling the pistol functioned fine.

According to the country song Being Mr. Mom, "pampers melt in a Maytag dryer". That seems pretty hot.

Hot enough to make socks disappear.:D

That got a chuckle out of me, good one.

Good thing those NAA's are stainless!! Next time I'm shooting one of my Supers I'll try the ammo just to satisfy my curiosity about how well sealed they are.

Dryer temperature

Normal exhaust temperature is in the neighborhood of 150 degrees and the drum temp can reach 190 degrees....pretty toasty!!
