Just ordered my first handgun: an M&P 2.0 FDE. Will it come with any kind of case?

I wouldn't leave handguns in foam lined plastic cases, or long guns in cases either. The foam or whatever kind of lining will absorb and hold moisture.

I've had about two dozen Smith & Wesson 3rd Gens in foam lined plastic cases for almost 20+ years and none of them have any surface rust at all on them. And I live in Southeast Louisiana where the air is always wet with like 90% humidity.

I actually had a custom 1911 that came in a plain brown cardboard box.

Howdy, Folks,

A couple nights ago, I ordered my first handgun: a new (as opposed to used) M&P M2.0 FDE 9mm. I ordered it from Tombstone Tactical.

Should I expect it to come in some kind of case?

Thanks!

Doug

I ordered a good biometric and keycode handgun safe if you need a recommendation

All of my handguns, except my Shield came in a plastic box. Some better than others. Some have the open cell "egg crate" foam, others have the cut closed cell foam.

While I've kept them all (including locks, mag loaders and paperwork) I don't use any for storage or transport. I have lockable pistol rugs that I use to transport them to the range in my range bag.

In the event I ever need to sell one, I have the original papers, etc., even the brown paper the M&Ps came wrapped in.

If you are looking for a range bag go to either Lowes or Home depot and check out their tool bags. Even Harbor freight sells them. I have three. One from Harbor freight is used as a range bag.And two from Lowes. One is used to store all my electrical tools and stuff and the other is also a range bag. Frank

Is this your 1st ever firearm to own? If so, did you take any kind of firearm class?
