Hi All I've been away from this forum since 2013 but I just placed an order for the S&W 327 357 8 round revolver. I've been shooting 9mm pistols for the past few years but decided it was time to get back into revolvers and the 327 seemed like a good place for me to start. My LGS told me I should have it in about 3 weeks.

Congratulations and Welcome Back

Did you order the 2" Pug Nose or was it one of the 5" variations like the 327 TRR8 or 327 M&P R8?

Anyone know how the 327 Nightguard is different? Where could you find one? which is easier to carry?

Both revolvers are built around the 327 Scandium alloy frame

The 2" 327

Is a Performance Center offering, product code 170245, it has a 2" barrel and a fixed sight channel milled into the frame, the cylinder is titanium and cut for moon clips.

The 327 Night Guard

Is offered from the production side of Smith & Wesson, product code 163422, it has a 2 1/2" barrel and is milled for adjustable sights. However it is wearing a Cylinder & Slide Extreme Duty U-notch rear sight with a front Tritium Dot from XS sights, the cylinder is stainless steel coated with IonBond

Where to find a 327 Night Guard . . . Look in all the same places that we look for any revolver that has been discontinued for 10 years . . . Auction sites, gun shows, small local gun stores

Which is easier to carry? Probably the 2". but I have not carried my 2" 327 since getting my various Night Guards. I appreciate the better sights.

The easiest thing to carry is not always the best choice to carry.

Thanks! Appreciate the advice.

Interesting in that I just noticed the change in the address line. Was this done on all of the Night Guard revolvers?
