Just venting, terrible customer service

I have bought a few things from S&W in recent years and only one had to back for service and eventual replacement. All the rest were just fine, so I do not agree with your statement.
That’s fine, Tom. Very very good for you. A few threads on here have other things to say about the matter, though. But as long as it worked out for you, that’s all that matters. Thanks for your input.

The curse of the internet is we tend to only hear from people who have problems. That's understandable as people are upset. You'll see that with anything, guns, cars, you name it. It's unfortunate, because if you see 20 different people complain, you think "Man, that (fill in the blank) must really be a piece of garbage. There may be thousands of people who are happy with the product, but you never hear from them.

One good thing though is if you see several complaints about a specific product or detail about a product, you are forewarned to look for that particular problem. Such an item here has been S&W's customer service. It always sucks to buy a new item and have to send it back, and while S&W has been very good about sending out return prepaid shipping, their turn around time and actual repairs have been problematic. For example, the one problem I had involved a .22 magnum semi auto that couldn't make it through a magazine without multiple jams. It took three returns to S&W before they finally replaced the gun. Yes, I was not happy, but on the other end of the spectrum, I bought several other S&W products and they have operated as expected.

So while it's important to hear about failures, it's important to hear about others who show the other side of the coin.
