Justice Department disrupts Russian influence operation...

And who could forget Nifong?

He got caught, doubt he was the only one who ever who did such a thing.

Judges Mostly Agree on Most Problematic Prosecutorial Misconduct, But That Doesn’t Translate to Accountability - Innocence Project

“Though prosecutorial misconduct has played a role in more than 30% exoneration cases, just 4% of prosecutors who participated in wrongful conviction cases involving prosecutorial misconduct have faced any kind of personal or professional discipline, according to the National Registry of Exonerations. Prosecutorial misconduct can be extremely difficult to uncover because prosecutors frequently have control over access to the evidence necessary to investigate misconduct claims, and there are currently no reliable and effective systems to hold prosecutors accountable”

So in the name of being a patriot we're not allowed to see or hypothesize that our own government or its corporate allies employs propaganda against the citizens?

Hmmm...that's not at all what I said. I was responding to several members who stated that they don't trust the US Government any more than they trust the Russian government.

President Reagan used to quip that the most feared sentence in the English language is "I'm from the government, and I'm here to help you." We can all laugh at that, of course, and a healthy cynicism about government and bureaucracy is built into our American psyche.

But: there is a huge, and stark, difference between the governments of the USA and of Russia...and any American who alleges otherwise is either being deliberately obtuse, has been truly propagandized, or is purposefully spreading Vladimir's disinformation.

Well, folks better be careful...Putin doesn't like the way our candidates talk about him.

"The Kremlin did not like how Russian President Vladimir Putin’s name was mentioned during the U.S. presidential debate between Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump on Tuesday evening.

Commenting Wednesday morning, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that Putin’s name was being used as a tool in the United States’ internal political struggle.

“We really, very much do not like it, and we still hope that they will leave the name of our president alone,” Peskov said." Don’t take Putin’s name in vain, Russia whines at Harris and Trump – POLITICO

Russia seems not to even pretend anymore.

"The State Department on Friday accused Russian media outlet RT of being involved in covert influence campaigns across the globe, sanctioning its parent company for working on behalf of the Russian government.

“We now know that RT moved beyond being simply a media outlet and has been an entity with cyber capabilities. It is also engaged in information operations, covert influence, and military procurement,” the State Department said in a release, saying RT has carried out operations in Europe, Africa, and North and South America."
