Yeh but see, the fact is it was brought up in a trial- exactly what we have been advising about- those issues would not have even been brought up with a stock weapon/ammo.
Those issues wouldn't have been brought up if you hadn't been carrying a gun and committed a criminal homicide either. How about you're George Zimmerman and you're carrying the same kind of gun and ammo that they issue the local cops and I paint you as a cop groupie, trying to track down bad guys like the real cops. "Look he even admits he did his best to equip himself like the cops! He's a wannabe." If you were carrying a target pistol and reloads, your lawyer could paint you as a target shooter who was on his way to the range and who used the only weapon he had available.
I think we tend to over think the basics sometime. Say you shoot someone who made a smart remark about your wife. Your gun has an action job. That could be the difference between first degree murder and manslaughter. "My gun went off accidentally because the trigger was so light! I didn't MEAN to shoot him!" If you're going to be criminally shooting people, maybe a modified gun is a GOOD idea!
