Anyone catch this show on TBS? Good action and some very good Leonard style writing...my only beef is he carries a Glock...nothing wrong with Glocks but it just seems to me a Southern Marshall would fit a 1911 or .44 N frame a bit better....even a 2 1/2" 19 would look the part....the poster shows a Sig but I don't remember seeing that in the show....

I've been watching "Justified" since the debut episode and so far I like it :) And yeah, Raylan needs a new sidearm.....ditch the tupperware Marshall. A 2-1/2 19 would be quite appropriate Sip ;)

"Isn't that the guy who played the sheriff in Deadwood?"

Yep, that's him.

What's the real issue sidearm for the Marshal Service? Maybe they're just being realistic. It's Hollywood, after all...;)

I've been watching it. The episode that he got locked into the cooler in a convenience store and his guns were taken he had a Glock 22 and a Glock 27 as backup. I believe this show is on FX though. ;)

I have been watching it too. It is pretty good as I don't watch much tv but I do make it a point to watch American Pickers, Pawn Stars, and Justified. He used a Sig in the first episode and a glock since. A Kimber with a Bond Arms in the boot would fit the part.

Thank you for bringing this up! I thought if you get a "renegade" type gunfighting cop (uh-hum.Dirty Harry ring a bell?) he should carry an old school wheelgun. watching him fast draw a Glock makes me realize I'm just a dinasaur and this is what's considered cool now. We're at that point. My wife watches this and I thought it looked good when I walked through the room and caught a glimpse of it, but she's getting tired of what she considers constant "banter" which might work in movies (Pulp Fiction), but eat ups up a ton of air time in a 40 min. TV show (minus commercials). This actor Oliphant is really good in everything I've seen him in. Especially Deadwood. And maybe this too if I actually sat down and watched it.

I've been watching it so far he has carried a few different guns, I guess being where the show is supposed to be taking place makes it's a little more funny to me. I love how everything takes place on tates creek road, it would be more accurate if stuff took place in Winburn and Cardinal Valley.

Come to think of it, you know what? This guy can carry any gun he wants. Just because I'd rather see him use a 3 1/2" M27 or Python or whatever and he doesn't, would I not watch it? Of course I'd watch it anyway. He's a good actor and the show seems cool. I saw part of it late last night.

I like it. 'Course I like most any show where the good guy wears a Resistol, cowboy boots and actually hits what he shoots at.:)
f.t.

I really enjoy this show. He says in a later episode that he used a Sig 226 to kill the guy in Miami, but he seems to have settled on a pair of Glocks now. Since he shoots somebody almost every week he probably has a closet full of Glocks to replace all the ones that wind up in evidence.

I like how he managed to shoot the guy in his girlfriend's kitchen square in the chest, but its implied he only wounded him on purpose based on his knowlege of human anatomy. Now that's some shooting.

I loved it when his Pop pulled out the Louisville slugger in the diner. Tuned them up real good! I like the show.

I've only seen one episode, where he killed his ex-friend that he mined coal with. I might be mistaken, but it looked like he used a 1911.

Remember how The Rifleman would kill four guys every time he went into town to buy some nails or whatever? Imagine the dozens of Colt single actions he must have by now. And saddles and fast draw holsters.

I make sure the DVR is set for it every week now. Seems that his character hasn't changed much since Deadwood.

Pretty good show! IMHO, Oliphant's read on this character is actually quite different than in Deadwood, where he seemed like a barely in control guy ready to explode at any moment. Fascinating character!
Here in Justified, he seems much more laid back, has a sense of humor, and that deceptively friendly demeanor of someone who shouldn't be messed with. The only time he gets pissed is when someone mentions his dear old Dad..

Time for a Dirty Harry Remake

I have enjoyed the show too.

After watching his mannerisms and limited dialogue, I think it's time Hollywood does a re-make of the original Dirty Harry using Oliphant.

I can't think of any other actors out there now that move and have that same quiet voice that Eastwood had. I'd go see it if....and only if...........the Model 29 is in it. That's the real star of the movie anyway!
