Bought it off of Gunbroker a few weeks ago and finally had a chance to pick it up today:

Will get better pics tomorrow when the sun is up, as this one does not do it justice (especially the color case hardening on the hammer). Bluing is about 98% and it looks to have been shot very little. Grips are numbered to the gun. Made in 1952 by the s/n.

I thought I had overpaid by a couple hundred dollars when I bought it. Judging by how well it's made, I underpaid by at least $1000.

The oldest S&W's I have besides this are from the 1980's, and this honestly makes them look like cheap knockoffs of the real thing :o I haven't even shot it yet and I'm already in love!

That is a beauty! I'm afraid you may be spoiled for life now that you own a '50s vintage S&W. I know I was. More and more of us fall under the spell of the 5 screws and the pre war Smiths.

Welcome to the dark side.

My first late 1940s Smith resulted in me selling off every S&W revolver I had made after 1960. They just aren't good enough, especially for the price. When I can spend a hundred or two more for a 1950's gun (or the same) I realized that there was no reason to ever buy a newer Smith again.

Pray you never discover the wonders of Pre-War guns, that's another stage of wallet ruination.

Very nice K22 Combat Masterpiece. You are headed down the slippery slope where you measure you wealth by the number of S&W's you are caring for...

You have a beauty there. Enjoy

Sebago Son--Quit it. {Isn't there a law against that many K.22's in one household}

Sweet get!! Wait till the plinking begins, that's when the joy starts.

Great looking Combat Masterpiece and box. That things looks brand new.

I think Segago Son needs a K22 patch to wear on his arm or needs to go "cold turkey" before he really has a problem.:eek: To help out with his addiction, I would be willing to keep his collection safe here in SC. Remember outta sight, outta mind.:rolleyes:
