Hi, I have a friend who wants to sell me a K-22 SN K307XXX. I am wondering what year it was produced and roughly how much it is worth. The gun is in very good condition. Attached is a photo.
thanks.

the lists in SCSW 4th ed show K307XXX as being shipped in 1957, just about the time the Model 17 designation was added. Is the revolver in question so marked?
“The gun is in very good condition” is really not specific enough not determine a price, but generally speaking all of the K22 series seem to be pretty strong in holding or increasing their value. Has the seller suggested any kind of price he wants to get for it? I’m guessing without box and docs, it will go for anywhere from a bargain price of $500 or less to an asking price of twice that. But without more information, I’m just guessing, and that’s worth exactly what you paid me for it.

If you want a more specific estimate more pictures are needed. There is a Sticky thread giving advice on how to post information that is needed to get a somewhat accurate appraisal.

It is highly unlikely that a K-22 Masterpiece numbered in the K307xxx range is marked as a Model 17. K326533 is the lowest number known on a Model 17 and it shipped in November, 1958.

K307xxx probably shipped in 1957 and would not be model marked. K271868 shipped in December, 1956. K311533 shipped in January, 1958, and is not model marked.

Thanks, folks. I appreciate the info. It has the box, but the box has tears on the corners. The seller has not suggested any price. I want to offer him not just a fair price, but a decent price since he is a very good friend.

Several yeàrs ago I bought a1957 K22 with Original nice box and it is stamps ith the 17 model mark.
I gave 700 or 750.

It is very clean slight blue wear from holster on edge of crown.

It is very tigh5 chambered have to brush it out often.

I wouldn't take what I paid. Nor sell it..

I've owned 5. The 1st one and this one are very accurate.

If you want on the one your looking at seems fair.

Take 7 one hundred with you and buy it.

I bought mine in a small gunship.

Plz keep us updated.

Best of luck
