I love mine. It is a 1939 gun and my mother, who is long gone, had a 1939 Colt, which has two pair of stocks....the wood and the ivory. Mine has the original stocks along with a pair of Keith Brown Ropers....
Yes, your serial number would be from 1948. However, your gun is a K-22 Masterpiece, not a K-22 Outdoorsman. The K-22 Outdoorsman was only made prior to WW II, did not have a rib on the barrel, and the serial numbers were numbers only (no K prefix). There are other differences also, but these are the most visible ones.

Here is my only one. To me, it has a couple of things going for it......King upgrade and a very, very early serial number (632157) that shipped in January 1931.

Here are my two Outdoorsman. Note the Humpback hammer and large medalion grips on #655509. The other, #636020 is just a darn nice early example.

Richard,
Do the large medallion grips number to the gun? Thanks.
Larry
Forgot I even had this old shooter. I am a big fan of palm swell stocks.![]()

Those are Ropers.I really like those grips - palm swell is the ticket.
What are they , if I may ask?
shipped June 1931 - King reflector sight

Very cool gun, especially for us King collectors.Do you know anything about the history? Does it letter with the reflector ramp? Also, since it shipped in 1931, it is too early for the humpback hammer. Do you know when it was added?
