K-38 date

I have a K38 6”. I’m pretty sure that means K38 Masterpiece. Serial number is K 77904. I’m thinking shipped 48 or 49. Can anyone narrow that down? TIA

Welcome to the forum, I would also guess at 1949 for a ship date...The only way to know for sure is to request a Letter of Authenticity from the S&WHF...I can also suggest joining both the S&WHF and the S&WCA...Doing so can trim a little off the cost of your letters, plus open up a whole new world of information about your S&W's... ...Ben
