K-38 Masterpiece M14-3 1971

I did go double-check my 14-3 before posting. You might make sure the ejector rod is tight. It should be reverse threaded. If it's tight and the cylinder locks up tight I would shoot it and enjoy!

I just got it a few days ago and haven't really had time to check it out. It locks up pretty tight but I did notice the gap between the cylinder and forcing cone seems larger than usual. Before shooting it I will take it apart and see if anything is loose.

New to me K-38 Masterpiece M14-3 1K97005 dates to 1971.
Original box label shows that it shipped with the target stocks, hammer and trigger:

pd1964, you are starting out right on top of the mountain as far as .38 Special revolvers go. Let us know if it shoots as good as it looks. They usually do.

It's my first .38 Special. Looking forward to shooting .38 Special out of a K frame.

You're going to love shooting it. My first experience with 38spl was out of my j-frames and Colt's DS. Shooting from a K-frame is powder-puff in comparison!

This thread was resurrected after about 5 1/2 months to just admire the gun some more. I'm sure that by now it is in a place of honor for pd1964 and that he is enjoying the quality and workmanship S&Ws of this vintage bring. Hope it's getting some range time in spite of the season up there in the "Great White North."

I dunno if it is usual , btw I notice that the two ampersands rolled on the barrel and the frame are different. Lazy one in on the frame.

Wow, what a beautiful example of a 14-3! Mine shows a bit more wear but in keeping with the sterling Model 14 reputation, it shoots like a dream.
