I have read in the Std Catalog 4th about both N & K Frame Coke Bottle stocks having been shipped in the early 50s. Does anyone here have any or have any ever been confirmed? SCSW 4th also states that there weren't many made, so I don't expect much.
Primary reason for asking is that I have acquired a set of K Targets and they appear to have Coke characteristics. Likely not, but exciting to consider.

The question has come up before both with early non-relieved K targets and with some football cutout targets with checkering patterns modified to resemble those on "cokes." There are several different checkering patterns on some of them which do look like those on "cokes." The consensus, so far anyway, has been that there are no K frame "cokes."

Here are some of my non-relieved K targets that show the differences in checkering patterns.

And a previous thread showing some modified ones.

More pics to include later N Frame Targets for comparison. SCSW also mentions that the filler portion on earlier versions is thicker. You can see the difference in the pictures.

I've never seen any documentation that factory K frame Cokes exist. I have owned several sets of N frame Cokes that were modified to fit a K frame. The modification involves removing about 1/8" of wood from the top half of the backstrap. It also removes over 80% of the value.

I sold this pair on the forum over 20 years ago.

I still have this pair.

These have the smaller checkered area of standard K frame Target stocks.

Of the ones I have seen, the purported K frame "oversized special Target stocks" have had the more rectangular profile as viewed from the bottom, as opposed to the more oval contour of the true N frame version.

Is there factory documentation that identifies N frame Cokes? I do not recall ever seeing any and would like to read some period documentation about what S&W said about them.
Doc44 has this brochure in his album. They're described as "Special Oversized Target Type" stocks and it clearly shows the larger checkering area.

That image and description says nothing about the origins coke profile which I always wonder about?? That is what I am referring to is in regards to factory specifically requiring or requesting that the palm swell was something other than some workers whim?
