I have a set of K frame non-relieved (no football cut) target stocks that came on a Model 17-2 that I purchased last year. I've been told these were stocks that S&W used in the early 50's for a few years until they were replaced by the football cutout stocks. My 17-2 dates from 1965 or 1966 so I assumed they are not original to the gun and there are no markings on them.
They are in very good condition and show very little wear except for the very small sliver missing from the right side and a few dings on the left side. I've heard these are somewhat rare and could be valuable.
I would appreciate if any knowledgeable members could give me an estimate of their worth.

Keep watching eBay. Sooner or later a pair will show up there and you can see what it sold for. In high condition, I'd think a pair would go for even more than $125-$150. Non relieved target stocks were offered from late 1949 to 1955.

Thank you DWalt. I put a pair of Pachmayr Presentations on my 17-2 for shooting so I don't ding up the "valuable" S&W targets. Still can't decide if I want to sell them and find some period correct ('65-66) stocks to install.

I'd keep them, unless you need the money. The prices go up every day and you may not be able to find (or afford) a pair when you want (or need) one in the future.

I'll admit that I have bought revolvers just to get the stocks, lol.
