Alright guys, what is your favorite bullseye recipe for your K38's? I've been loading .45 and just purchased a K38 (:D). I'll be stocking up on .38 brass right away!

My standard load of 3.5gr of Bullseye with any 158-160gr LSWC, especially the one I cast myself, an H&G #290BB.

The other load I like a lot for it is 3.0gr AA#2 with a148gr DEWC, again, one I cast from an H&G #50 mould.

Either one is super accurate.

2.7 gr. Bullseye Rem 1 1/2 behind Remington 148 gr. LHBWC or 3.6 gr. Trail Boss behind a 158 gr. LRN.

Coming from a semi-auto, I guess a full LWC bullet shouldn't be an issue in a revolver? I'm so used to LSWC

Got two favorites. A hard cast 148gr DEWC over 4.0grs of HP-38/W-231 or a hard cast 158gr SWC over 5.0grs HP-38/W-231.

FOR REVOLVER DISTINGUISHED BULLLSEYE. 3.1 WST , ZERO 158SWC SWAGED
FOR PURE ACCURACY 2.7 WST, ZERO OR REMINGTON 148 GR HBWC SWAGED

When using 148gr HBWC - 2.7-3.0 grs of Bullseye.

When using 148 gr Double Ended Wadcutters, use 3.0-3.5 grs of Bullseye. I shoot the H&G #251 dbl ended W/C seated with the first band out (taper crimped on the trailing edge of the first band) with 3.5 grs of Bullseye. This will shoot well under 1" at 25 yards using .38 Special cases in my Model 14, my 686's (4" and 6") and my 4" Model 520.

Either Speer or Remington's 148 grain HBWC over 2.8 grains Bullseye. I try to use either Federal or Remington small pistol primers but sometimes have to use whatever I can find.

SWC bullets can often shoot pretty much just as well as wadcutters, assuming equal quality of production, but that's one of the nice things about handloading for revovlers, bullet style doesn't affect function.

Well, to add to my first post, don't forget the 358311 158 grain LRN. I use this with 3.6 grains of Bullseye too.

3.0 bullseye with 148 HBWC and use "Kleenex" wad over the powder

3.0 bullseye with 148 HBWC and use "Kleenex" wad over the powder

Why use the Kleenex? For filler?
I normally shoot 148's with 2.3 gr of B.E. (approx. 4300/yr for PPC league, practices and matches), no problems ever.

I use 3.0 grains of Red Dot under a 158 grain Xtreme plated bullet, or a hard cast bullet. Sometimes I use 3.7 grains of W231 with the same bullets. Mild loads, easy to shoot, and pretty accurate.
