Well, yeah, it's another book. But it is a special book at least to me and I imagine most of you would find it highly informative and interesting. There is no number for how many books I've read in my life. On 4 occasions I enjoyed a book so much that I bought several copies of it to give to friends. I did so with this book but I thought I had given them all away. I found this in a drawer in my night stand a couple of weeks ago and pegged it for a karma for this forum.
The title of the book is Delta Force. No it's not a Charlie Sheen movie. It is the full account of the events leading up to and the reason for the failure of the hostage rescue attempt in Iran in 1980 by Col. Charles Beckwith Ret.
He is the man that pushed for the formation of the counter terrorist unit and was it's first commander. He gives you a clear picture of the man he is and his qualifications and his extreme level of dedication to the unit, as well as the "blow-by-blow account of the rescue attempt itself.
The Wall Street Journal says of him: "Nations without men like this simply don't survive."
You hear the term "page turner". If there has only ever been one such book this one is it.
I would like to share this book with as many as possible so I would ask that the winner of this karma, when you have finished with it, post up a karma and pass it on and keep it going. I will sign it and I ask that each person that gets it sign it and pass it on.
If you want your name in the hat just post up an "I'm in" in this thread. The dead line will be 12 noon CST on Monday, June 5th, One week from today.
Again, many thanks but I must warn you....I feel like I'm just getting started.
