Keeping The Slide Original

Seems some of the folks want to polish their slides to a mirror finish....stand back and say that's better than original.

I'm wondering if anyone feels like me and thinks it's just fine, or I'm leavin it alone, that's what it is?

Matte finishes are my favorite.

I like mine 2 toned and laser engraved. Few nicks and a couple tiny rust specs. But then again it is 12 years old.

I too like the original finish, but I can't leave well enough alone and had to do some minor polishing. Not the whole slide though.

I prefer my melonite black slide. No silver at all. But (IMNSHO) polished guns are for pimps.

I left mine alone with the matte finish, didn't want to risk getting the sun reflected into my eyes as I line up the sights on the BG...

I can't get into silver guns myself, but thats what makes guns and shooting a fun hobby. It doesn't matter what I think as long as you enjoy it!

P.S. Although I hate to admit it, stainless is the best choice for a working/self defense gun.

SD Hand guns should be mean, ugly weapons, not pretty. Only if they don't scare away the BG should they be used. That means matte finish over polished silvery. It also rules out Pink, but then Sigmas don't come with a Pink option, unlike some brands...

I have a matte stainless 9mm and the Allied Force 40. I like both of them but carry the AF 40 with the black slide. Bling is nice for the range but can get you killed on the streets.

I saw those at Bud's. I had to LMAO!

IMHO the Sigma was built and begs for some detail attention. I like the AF. But it's no where worth the premium S&W and the local retailers thinks it's worth. I would spend a dime more and buy a Glock over a AF.
