I've been thinking about one of these for a while now, and just found a smoking deal on a new one in .40 S&W with four magazines. Anyone have experience with one? Accurate? Reliable? Any help appreciated!!

yup....

I have one of the early models that takes 9mm GROCK mags.

Grock does make some dandy mags.

The little gun does a great job, plenty accurate and has been 100% reliable.
I have only one gripe but it is a major one.
Notice how the charge handle runs underneath the tubular stock?
I have a kinda bushy long beard. Ya see where this is going?

I want one. Aren't they 350-400 new?

I've found some much closer to $300. That's what's prompting me to start asking questions. ;)

ktog doesn't say much about the rifles, just a few discussions on their Yahoo group. I'd still like to hear from more folks here that I can trust.

I have one in 9mm and have no complaints. The folding in half feature is NICE. Fits in a computer case or backpack easily.

It makes a great motorcycle companion. My only complaint is the round apertures front & rear. Your eyes want to line up the circles which negates having the front sight. Been thinking about replacing the front blade with metal sight & cutting out the front shroud.

Other than that it cycles everything i can think to feed it.

good luck,
b.

I've been trying to find one that uses S&W magazines or Glock ones, but no dealer around here can find one anywhere.

Took about 2 years until I could find the version I wanted. Very scarce. IIRC, Bud's Gun Shop online seems to have them in stock more than other places. Rarely do you see them up for sale by individuals -- a telling indicator.

My Sub 200 with Glock Mags, works splendidly.

When I bought it, I didn't think it would, but always nice to be surprised.

The 33 round mags feed flawlessly, the gun is quite accurate, and I feel like Rambo when I shoot it.

Heres my grandaughter enjoying one. Ill bet that photo would give the antis a case of the vapors.

Looked at one at show a couple years ago, and thought about it. Ended up buying an AKlone, which eventually turned into a 21-4 thanks to a trade here... if I had to choose between the AKlone and the SUB, I'd take the SUB now, but it worked out well for me that time.

I bought one of the early ones, Glock model. Shot less than 100 rds before I sold it. I was disgusted with the very crude (kindest words I can use) front sight on them. Adjusting it was a joke and I wasn't about to spend almost $100 for a decent (machined) front sight made by someone on the Kel-Tec forum.

just remembered I got one stashed in the back of the safe NIB.uses glock mags too .Think I paid $290 for it . Gonna have to get it out and play with it now .folded in half it will fit into a pistol case .

Bought one, principally for the wife, about 2-3 years ago. My daughter bought one also for an urban "get out of Dodge" weapon.

CTD's large fabric pistol case fits them well when folded, with pockets for extra mags. The heavy pull isn't much of a handicap, and the sights suffice for the purpose which is minute of gallon jug @ 100 yds and closer. It works fine with 17 rd Glock mags but not so well with the Scherer 33 round ones.

I view it as a 21st century semiauto Sten gun, and for that it's fine. Haven't had it out for a while as my stock of 9mm is somewhat depleted. Wish I had bought some 9mm bullets in bulk when they were cheap.

I'd like to have one in 9mm as I'm heavily invested in both the 9mm caliber and Glock magazines. Seems like it would make a good companion for the G17's in this household.

From a practical perspective I do wonder just how much the carbine improves on accuracy and velocity over the pistol.

Velocity should be improved significantly because the pressure is applied for a longer distance inside the longer barrel. The longer barrel should also give the bullet some increased accuracy in and of itself, and the longer sight radius is definately an enhancement for accuracy over the short sight radius of a pistol length barrel. The crappy front sight of the KTSub2k probably detracts a bit, though.

You let your granddaughter around such a dangerous assault weapon?:eek::eek: The school better save time and just expell her right now before the rampage...

I'm sure she has a great time, good for both of you!

It's on my list, I love our Kel-Tecs and pistol caliber carbines are alot of fun. Wish S&W would make them in the M&P line...

I bought one in 40cal. when they first came out. It has worked great for a fun and just in case gun. It shoots well and hides well and with 29 round mags it's a hoot.

Big Rich I wanted to let her use the photo in her show and tell what I learned during summer vacation. We figured some limpwristed lib teacher would probably call a swat team on her. As you can see in these photos she is still being led down the non PC way of life.
