There is been a slight change in the Kit Carson situation on Taos, NM.
The city Council has now decided to give the park area two separate names.
The cemetery area where Kit Carson, his wife, Gov. Bent and his wife, and other Are buried will still be named for Kit Carson.
The rest of the park will have a different yet to be chosen name. It turns out that the Taos Pueblo Indians don't like the use of the name 'Red Willow which was picked by the Taos City Council.

Can I complain?
So what if live 1300 miles away, and will most like never visit the park.
I'm sure I can find something offensive about whatever name they come up with.
After all, this IS Progressive America. You can't offend a single one of the 316+ million people taking space here.

Sure you can, even a minority. The results are just different.

"Red Willow?" Am I missing something? I fail to see why THAT would upset anybody.

More white liberal guilt.

Let's change history, and make amends for people who have been dead for over 100 years all while ignoring the atrocities committed by the spaniards and indians themselves. We can continue to glorify them because they were the ones who were defeated. Only the victors should be made to suffer in the effeminate progressive world we live in.

I wish Kit Carson and his kind could come back and start the Liberal Wars and cleanse this country of the parasites trying to destroy it.

It did upset the Taos Pueblo Indians. I think it was more of a case where they are in the driver's seat and they to want call the shots.
They say the name Red Willow belongs to the Taos Pueblo.
So if you're using the name Red Willow, you have been warned!

This can't be that hard. If the city council is sensitive to the tribes wishes then just let the tribe give the council a list of approved names and pick one. Then let them pay for the cost of a new sign, changing all of the media material and any other associated costs to the city.
