Kit gun accuracy

When comparing trigger pull (both weighed and perceived) it is good to remember that with a Model 34 or 35 you have a light weight revolver with a smaller grip and a coil mainspring. OTOH, the K-22 gives you a bigger, heavier gun with larger grip and a leaf mainspring. The former is starting out at a disadvantage in all features. You may be able to observe that I am showing a definite preference for the K Masterpiece when accuracy is my goal. The J frame is pleasant to carry and with practice will give minute of varmint accuracy if that is your goal.
I've never heard of a Model 34 in good condition keyholing, so I would definitely look for something wrong with it. Check under the extractor star, for fouling buildup and make sure your forcing cone is properly shaped.

I admit I'm spoiled by K-frame accuracy. That makes the J-frames less satisfying, but this thread makes me feel that I might be asking too much of the J-frames and too little of myself.

The unfair advantage to shooting 2" Chiefs Special Targets (or 2" Kit Guns) well is to use J frame target grips-----period------end of discussion.

Now, that presupposes you recognize the disadvantage of the very short sight radius, and pay very close attention to your sight picture.

Way back when, when I'd run my mouth claiming I could shoot better than some of the mediocre scores posted by some of the Bullseye match shooters with my snub nose, I'd get challenged. After settling the question of "Oh yeah, for how much?" I'd proceed to shoot a better score (at 25 yards), collect my money, and head for home.

Speaking of home, that routine only worked at home once. There were no takers after that.
