Yesterday I went to the range and took my 2" Nickle Mod 34-1 2".
A buddy was there with me, he is a Colt revolver kind of guy, but he had a S&W Stainless 4" Kit Gun.

I shot both of them at 25 yards with a few different 22LR loads.

To my suprise my 2" was more accurate with every load, and very accurate with one particular load.

I have had a 4" Nickle Mod 34 for about 30 years, and after I retired I bought the 2" to carry in my pocket when hunting in the woods.

Tomorrow we are going back to the range and I am going to do some accuracy tests with both of my Kit Guns, and his, and a 7" Mod 41 as well.

I am very curious to see how the Kit Guns fare against the Mod 41.

My 2" Nickle Mod 34-1 2" shot a couple of inches high at 20 yards
I had to file the rear sight blade down in order to get on target.
I'm not sure what distance these guns were intended to be sighted in at under normal conditions.
Good Luck with yours - J.Solo

Is your 2" a square or round butt? I have both the 2 and 4 as well. Haven't shot the 2 much as it shoots a lot to the left--have to crank the rear sight all the way to the right to shoot on. I'll have to do a serious side by side comparison....thanks.

The forecast is looking good for this weekend, I've got a touch of rim fire fever myself, love those kitguns!!!

Try any version of PMC ammo and see if either revolver will extract them. I have nothing but trouble with PMC rimfire in my J Frames. As for accuracy, I'm not surprised that a 2" barrel is more accurate.

My 2" has the square butt.

I carried it in my left front pocket in a pocket holster all last deer season, without any trouble.

But I am used to carrying some knd of gun in my left front pocket all the time. been doing it for over 30 years.

The Kit Gun gives one the advantage, in that you can easily carry 50 to 100 extra rounds of ammo.

Which could come in handy in case of an ATV breakdown, lost in the woods, or a "Deliverence" situation.

Also did not get to go to the range today, my buddy could not make it, we are going to try and go tomorrow, weather permitting.

What kind of weather are ya'll having? Here in SC its over 80 and sunny. Keep the bad weather away and come visit.

Weather here has been hot and a little humid.

I got to the range yesterday and shot the 2" Kit Gun against a 4" Nickle, and a 4" Stainless steel nd a 7 " Mod 41.

Well both the 4" Kit Guns shot as good as the 2", but not a lot better.

Usually 3 to 4 shots would be really tight, with the others as flyers.

The Mod 41 was a lot more consistent as would be expected.

I am still suprised at how well the 2", Mod 34 Kit Gun does.

For small game hunting to 25 yards, you will hit a lot of small game, first round out.

For defense it will make head shots, even double action a large majority of the time.

I am impressed with the accuracy of the 2" and the 4" Kit Guns.

I would like another 2" Kit Gun for sure.

Managed to get back to the range.
At 25 yards...
The Mod 41 7" shot the best groups, as should be expected.

Also the 4" Mod 34 shot slightly better and more consistant groups than the 2" Mod 34, but not by much.

Again, I was impressed at how well the 2" Kit Gun shot.

I would say you can make "bunny rabbit" killing hits 50 to 60% of the time at 25 yards.

For personal protection, at 25 yards you can hit the head @75% of the time.
This is firing single or double action.

Shooting the 25 yard plate rack, the 4" did not have any advantages over the 2"...

All in all the 2" Kit Gun is well worth having...

I also did some high speed DA shooting on a person sized target at 25 yards.

The 4" and the 2" Kit Guns had 100 % hits.

If you slowed down just a little, head shots were 95 to 100%.
