Kit gun on Perry Mason rerun

I love me some Perry Mason. We built a new house and moved so I started streaming. It's much cheaper but I don't get "MeTv" so I don't get PM any more. Oh Ive seen'em all but I still would watch anyway. Loved the cars. Paul was driving an early Corvette roadster in one. Lots of guns, lots of recognizable actors before they were household names. I always liked Lt Tragg and Hamilton Burger. And I must say Della was easy on the eyes. Her real life husband was in a few episodes (William Katt or Bill Williams)? A couple were hard to watch like where Burr played two different characters in the same episode. And then there was the "1" color episode. OK now I gotta find a way to see this show again!

I remember this show in its first run during the last 4 or 5 seasons. For a few years in the early 70's one of the local TV stations ran it at dinner time and again after the 11:00 pm news. I liked how Mason got a new Ford convertible every season and Drake got the new T-Bird.

The property department must have hit a lot of gun stores around LA to get all that neat stuff. I remember I episode where exhibit A was a model 39. In another episode a trick shooting clown at a circus had what looked like a long barreled N frame.
No freeze frame in those days so it was easy to miss a lot of small details.

I did enjoy the show and would love to see it again. I may pick up the fill dvd collection with all of the episodes from 1957 -1966. I love old cars as much as old S&Ws and Colts. The show is a great Time capsule and full of eye candy. And with the benefit of freeze frame I will now know for sure whether Lt Tragg carried a Detective Special or 2" M&P.

Ms. O'Brien is, indeed, still with us:

Glad to hear that. I hardly missed a Bob Crosby show when she was the featured singer on his show back when she was a teenager. I was totally enamored of her - she was just 3 years older than I was. I will always know her as "Joanie" rather than Joan. Fond memories of a very special gal.

My wife and I both enjoy watching the new Perry Mason. I wasn't a big fan of the original preferring "The Untouchables" or "Peter Gunn". My wife had a huge crush on the original Mason and had his picture on the wall. She remarked the other night "Wow, if they had only known Della was a lesbian back in the 60's."
