Hi - this was my dads knife set and I'm assuming its 30+ years old but I was curious if anyone knows when they produced this set. Also, any ideas on worth? I don't have ANY plans of ever getting rid of this piece but just curious.

Welcome to the Forum. These sets are dealer display sets, circa mid 1970s era. I've seen them sell for $1500 - $2500 range in minty condition. I don't know the total number manufactured, but 100s, at least. These are Blackie Collins designed knives and very collectable. Nice heirloom item! Ed.

IN 2008 AND '09, J&G, PRESCOTT, AZ, SOLD OUT MOST OF THE PALLETIZED(J&G'S STAFF WORDS) ITEMS OF THEIR LATE SENIOR FOUNDER AND OWNER, JOE DeSaye. AMONGST THAT WEEKLY OFFERING SETS WERE, ONE OR TWO AT A TIME, THE ENGRAVED/ETCHED VERSIONS OF THESE KNIVES. Ii bought/won all I could. Never was successful in getting al four of them identically SN'd, but came close. All had sheaths, cardbd blue boxes and wooden cases with outside carton. I think I missed "that BEAR" by one bid and maybe it was the one I missed on "that" set..........I bought them for their beauty and because I know Joe and I figured He must have known something about these embellished blades of Blackie Collins. Guess they will be part of my Estate Sale...........Later, elsewhere I bought the Dealer's Case from a long time Friend...SO:......The guy with the most stuff comes in First, I am sucking wind and a close second, the Family tells me.......It is great to be this old and be able to borrow this much money to buy stuff you really wanted 35 years ago, working shifts for some ungrateful son of unmarried parents.......But, I digress. Love you, all of you , My Brothers, as well as the Sisters who collect, accumulate, and seek our treasures...............MIKE

as a small time knife collector, I am blown away, these are nice.
I wish I had one trinket that I inherited. Thats why I started a collection for my grandson.
