After many years wondering if it would ever happen, Korth introduces their NXR revolver in 44 magnum.
Price in Europe is about 4,000 Euro. By the time it gets to the USA, who knows, maybe $5,000.

With the price of a pre-29 climbing ever higher, maybe that's not so bad?
Personally, I think the new 44 looks pretty sharp.

Korth Waffen

Probably well built, but not my cup of tea at all. I bet it's a pain in the butt to clean after a good range session too. I rather a traditional looking revolver over this thing and would rather take the money one of these costs and put as a down payment for something both traditional and rare, like a Registered Magnum.

Thanks for sharing the photos and info. I find it intriguing. Probably not a buyer, but it is very interesting.

Sure different than the one I saw on the cover of Guns & Ammo magazine many years back! Price was a shocker back then too!

I have never been impressed with Korth revolvers - figure they're basically another overpriced European take on something domestic manufacturers have been doing pretty well over here for a long time.

That said, I think this one brings something new to the table! If that barrel is user removable they've got winner! I like the vented shroud because it cuts a lot of weight off the front and brings the balance in closer to the "circle of the hand."
I like the look and the lines, and the way they did the rails....they don't look like an afterthought as they seem to on most revolvers.

I don't know about the price though. If they come here priced at $5K I don't see many who can afford them, or who will choose to afford one over the domestic models.

The reason why the Korths from Ratzeburg were so expensive is due to the fact that they were hand-made and hand-fitted, a process that was well outdated during the late production and not cost efficient at all. Imagine that the polishing was done with sanding blocks by hand and not on a wheel to achieve the sharp edges!

The new Korths that are made in Lollar are manufactured on modern and highly sophisticated CNC machinery, a much more cost efficient way to produce a firearm. While €4,000 are about $4,500 that price includes 19%VAT.

When Willi Korth had introduced his guns into the German market in the 1960s, he had chosen a price point to compete with Colt and S&W and a Korth did not cost much more than a Colt Python during the 60s and 70s. It was after Willi Korth had repeatedly gotten into financial troubles, that the prices were adjusted by distributors like Dynamit Nobel , or new owners .

I find the price point for the Nighthawk Korths not well chosen and as someone who loves the older Korths for their quality and traditional lines want to abstain from even commenting on the progressive exterior design of some Korths.

Would really like to shoot one. If You have the coin why not get it. AS far the design its not for everyone but the Lollar Korth is the finest current production revolver on the market. The Ratzenberg collectors always like to bad mouth the current production Korth because someone did not take 70 hours to build one. I mean I like the 67 Camaro but would much rather have a current production ZL-1.

I can’t take the styling of Korth Lollar at all.

I love my Ratzeburg Korths

So in your estimation, how do they compare back to back?

Have you shot a Lollar and Ratzeburg together at the range? I have and the difference is more than cosmetic.
