Kurt (aka Hammer Down) was one of my best friends. I first met him on this Forum back when Parabellum ran it. And he spoke highly of Lee when he took over. Me and Hammer soon became best friends. I've known him since about 2002-2003.
Hammer and myself had been to many gun shows together over the years and I knew his Dad and even shot with him and his Dad at a local Range here in Nashville. We also worked together for RK promotions. Me, him and Nancy.
His family Nancy, Nicky, Tyler all are Great People! And he loved the grandchildren dearly. And he had been through allot over the last 2-3 years.
And when I lost my leg almost four years ago and while they had just taken off my leg, they found out I had cancer. And he was very upset about it and was there for me when ever I needed someone to talk to!
I talked to him at least once a week and sometimes 3-4 times a week for many years, depending on what was going on in our life's. And always at or during Holidays. And I'm going to miss our conversations. We'd talk about everything from Kids, Trucks to guns and everything in between! He used to give me heck about my Love of Colts. But he knew I Loved Colt 1911's and S&W revolvers. He'd say "why do fool with those clunky ole 1911's". But I knew he was kidding. I Think? LOL! But he forgave me because he knew I also Loved S&W revolvers. He was a true S&W lover and stayed true to the brand, even when he almost lost a finger or two when he had one blow up in hand about 10-12 years ago. And he was a Dodge Truck person and me, a GM guy. But we still got along.
But I lost a Good Freind and considered him and Nancy family! And I will always consider Nancy, Nicky, Tyler part of my family.
And he would be thrilled about this thread!
Nancy called me the minute he passed. I haven't been the same since. It's been tough. And it's even hard for me to post this. I have so many good memories of him. And will never forget him.
RIP Dear Freind! I'll miss you!
