I have a friend who was a Smith & Wesson collector who passed away about 3 years ago, his collection was pretty much sold off on consignment. the wife of my friend recently discovered this set of three ladies Smith's Mod1, Mod2 & Mod3 underneath the bed in her house, I checked his index card file and found the three pistols showing that they were purchased back in the early 1980s and what he paid for them back then. The lowest quality pistol is about 90% the highest being around 95% I actually had the index cards that my friend had on the three pistols what he paid for them most of them were purchased back in the early 1980s, the purchase prices then range from $500 to $700. I'm looking for some values on these since they are in a custom case and have an unopened box of ammunition embedded in the case you probably we will want to sell all three together. Any recommendations on values would be appreciated. Not finding much on GunBroker to compare them to :-)
Any help regarding the values will be appreciated.

Recent sales put those at $1500-$2000 each. (Assuming original nickel, good mechanicals etc.) She may have problems selling as a set for the usual reasons.

Thanks for the information! Do you have any idea what the .22 Rim cartridges unopened might bring?

What a beautiful set your friend sure had good taste. The presentation case is a work of art as well. I would sure try, and keep those together...
Jack was an amazing man passed at 82 in poor health. Jack loved his S&W's he was a member of the S&W Collector's Association and traveled to the S&W conventions and shows all over the country back in the 1980's - 2000.

I'm glad these were under the bed or Jack's wife would have been taken advantage of regarding these, a collector dealer from out of of state came in and removed the firearms upon his death her request later forwarding he a list of what he supposedly took (probably 1/3 of the best pieces were missing from the list) She was really taken advantage of and she realized it in the end. I've always heard of stories like this......

Selling them as a set might be problematic.
If you sell them on GunBroker, or have a good seller sell them for you on GunBroker, it is definitely NOT the way to go. You will be excluding some bidders who want one of the guns, but already have the others.
They are decent guns, but not the cream of the crop, so don't assume a buyer will take all 3 to get the one he needs when he has better examples of the other two.

Start them at one cent with no reserve, run them 10-14 days, and they'll bring whatever the market will bear IF the pics and description are good and you offer a customary 3 day inspection. You might want to spend the money and the time to get letters on the guns.

The case is no big deal. It is just an 8-3/8" case that someone made an interior for. Run it on GB at the same time as the guns and maybe you'll snag $100 or more for it. Don't insist on selling them as a set because you have a cobbled up case for them. ;)

The ammo is probably not a big dollar item either. Not much in ammo is. I gave up on dealing most ammo years ago. It seemed like I hauled it and hauled it till it wasn't worth the trouble. 22 ammo collectors don't spend big bucks. ;)
