Went to get a key made today and decided to get into a discussion about how I might want to replace the S&G mechanical lock on my safe with an S&G electronic lock. This at a reputable locksmith place where I live.
The fella' tells me that he can do me better than that and he produces a low-profile LaGard lock. He says that it is actually superior to the electronic S&G. He seems to think that since S&G became part of the Stanley company (the tools people), the mechanical locks have remained superior while the electronic versions have suffered in quality. I'm scheduled for the replacement two weeks from today.
Anybody know anything about that? I'll make the pre-emptive strike here and say that I don't expect any sort of electromagnetic pulse here in Victoria TX anytime soon. Just curious who might have this particular lock.
