I said observations because I couldn't cut a deal for squat. There were so many people inside from when we got there 9:15 till we left @ 2:30 and people were still arriving. Walking in the door, a guy had a 19-3 4" w/ perfect football cutouts in 99% shape without accessories for $400. I didn't counteroffer and should have paid that but @ 9:30 in the AM I just wasn't hitting on all cylinders. Saw no less than 1000 nice S&W revolvers from lots of folks. Most were priced like comparable new guns. K-22's of any flavor were top dollar $600-1K. Sold out show, no mega-dealers (Shoot Straight had maybe 10 tables of impossibly overpriced guns) and lots of "table shares" (2 guys sharing 1 8 ft table.) Saw a very nice nickel 27-2 5" for $600, probably should have got that one too. Now there were M&P's and Model 10's all the way up to $1K. Some very nice and worth at least half that. One walk in offered me a Peruvian 10-? w/box for $800. I had to clench so I didn't soil myself early. Grip prices were interesting, a pair of Speedloader cut N targets in nice shape for $26. Shoulda... Other N football targets from $80- $175 with a nice pair of Diamond targets for $250(!). Glock 33rd 9mm mags were $50, I told the doc they would be $75 so pleasant surprise. Quite a large amount of antique guns, but if you don't know your stuff, you're going to overpay by a lot. Lotsa junk and Nazi stuff. They have improved the food some, 2 wraps w/ Powerades were $18. Admission is now $11 w/ free parking which is better (to my thinking) than $8 w $5 parking. My legs are rubbery from starting, stopping, moving right and left, shifting weight and walking miles.

Thanks for the report Joe, I'm going tomorrow, body permitting.:D
Can you tell me where each of those 1000 S&Ws are?:D Only kidding.
Was the 19-3 still there when you left?

A group of 4 of us drove up to Lakeland for the show. I found most of the vendors had the prices SKY HIGH and were rude and insulted when you made a reasonable offer. I offered a guy $200.00 for a 10/22 that was priced $209.00. The guy turned his head away and said in a snotty voice "Nope". Wow! If he would have said, No, I really need 209 I would have gladly paid it. Had almost the same experience at another booth offering $175 for a used dirty 10/22 offered at 199.00. The guy acted like I just made a pass at his mother. None of us left with anything. We did have a good time though.

BYW, did anyone see the S/W mod 66 snub for $1040.00???

You're kidding, right? Was it a 3" or the usual 2 1/2"? Either way the guy is insane. I think I'll see a lot of guys packing up a lot of guns to take home tomorrow.:(

I'm gonna walk a Model 520 at $900 and see what happens.:D

Sal and Dick were not there, probably why I didn't buy anything. I never saw the 19-3 again. There was a 99+% 624 with a 6 1/2" barrel for $650, if I reloaded I'd have it now. Was still there when I left. There was quite a bit of rudeness from the vendor side of the table, but with so many folks asking so many questions rapid-fire and simultaneous, it's exhausting. I did see the 4 figure 66 but like any wildly overpriced gun, when it starts so high there ain't enough hunkering and dickering to get it into a ballpark I want to play. I may take the trip tomorrow alone, no yard work with a solid brown lawn. Joe

I had a pretty good day.Sold some mags, got a good price on some 20 gauge buckshot,a Mossberg 151K,got a couple of holsters made up by Mr. Blake and some hardware to put slings on a couple of shotguns. And best of all ran into some old friends I have'nt seen in awhile.Dang near pick up another 39-2 them Schriebman boys were dealing, might have to go back tommorow.

The Shriebman's?? Silver Bullet aka BigAlsgunshows. They used to have a store up here, until Larry died about 5 years ago. Had a brain aneurism, died right on his kitchen floor, 51 years old. Larry was a good guy, I got some good deals from him, he loved to dicker.
His brother still does alot of shows here and in Ct. He also does shows in Largo

i goto alot of shows and most of the time i have a table. like to think
i sell my stuff at good honest price's, also i have done business with
the same people for years and they keep coming back. theres 2 reasons to goto a gun show for me buy and sell, if i sell enough i don't fell bad about buying a couple for the safe. remember you also have to pay for tables, rooms and food, i like to think that everyone i sell or buy a gun from is now a friend and would never be rude, guy remember that kind of stuff.....

Took the trip again today, what a difference. Vendors were packing up at lunch. The $1025 66 with 2 1/2" was still there. So were the $850 model 10's including a nickel 32-20 HE for $895. Tried to work a deal for a nice 6" 17 @ $600. He came down to $550 which was nice but for the gun only, I passed. Almost bought a 6" nickel 15-2 and yes, I'm positive that's what it was(showed it to Dick, he didn't twist my arm). It was in the K 600000 serial range and priced at $495 + tax and call in. I just didn't want it that bad but that was the most "interesting" gun I saw in 2 days (well except for Dimonback Dick's 520). Everyone was in a better mood except for tha complaining that nothing was selling. If you price your guns high (that $1025 66 didn't even have the original grips) or worse yet, no price at all and then make it known that you ain't dealing, don't grouse. I think I have had enough gunshow excitement for awhile. Dick will have to tell about his day hisself. Joe

I had that 6" nickel 15-2 in my hand on Saturday. Still kicking myself for not buying it. Absolutely gorgeous, 3T's and a red ramp front site. Didn't buy it as I thought it was probably a very good re-barrel. Still, the price was very good. Most of the dealers were outrageous on prices. I sold two revolvers, a Model 19-5 with a 6" barrel and a 2 1/2" Diamondback. Got what I was asking for both of them, probably because anything on a dealer's table was priced so much higher.

The January show is usually the best of the three, but even this one is beginning to turn sour.:( Nobody and I mean nobody had any money and I didn't see anything selling.

I did finally manage to sell my 520 and got what I wanted out of it.
Next table over I bought a 60-10 3" and within 3 minutes a guy offered me more than what I paid and I let it go (hadn't fallen in love with it yet), so I guess I was the only guy "dealin" today.:D
They gotta get better than this.:(
