Yes, just tap out the pin in grip frame and the lanyard ring and swivel will come out. You can make a plug with an piece of round stock, a piece of bolt or old drill bit, then mark it for remove and cut for length file and sand smooth, cut a notch in it for the pin using a hack saw blade or Dremel cutting wheel

Thanks steelslaver, I’ll want to use full coverage grips for shooting. Which pin are you referring to (where I would need to file the plug for clearance)
 
Remove grips and near the butt you’ll see the swivel retaining cross pin. Drive it out (comes out easily). The groove in the swivel stud will give you the location to file a notch in your plug. Than put the retaining pin back to hold the plug in place.

But what I do is leave the lanyard swivel in place and cut a slot in the bottom of the custom grips.
