Your mother is very generous, that is a beautiful weapon, however I believe that is a Model 60 not a 640. I have the standard version and enjoy it immensely.

You are correct, fat fingers....:) I have corrected my error:eek:

Other than the script on the side plate and grips are there other differences?

The LadySmith has a fine bead-blasted finish that S&W calls frosted. Reportedly it also has a lighter main spring. I've compared them side to side and can confirm that the Ladysmith had a better trigger action.

Congratulations! Better give you mom a big hug the next time you see her.

I tend to not like grips that have finger grooves as they are never in the right place for my fingers. However, those look like they might work for me. They seem to be just about like the Uncle Mikes that came on my 649-3, which I like very much.

Very attractive gun. And a very nice case to go with it. You're one lucky guy. Does it have the internal lock on it?
We just purchased one recently for the wife, and all they're giving now is a cardboard box. And didn't even get the spent casing either. No biggie, but are they hurting that bad?
