I'm just starting to reload for a 10mm in a 1911 platform. I've heard that shooting lead bullets in 1911 platform is problematic especially in ramped barrels. Is there a particular design/shape lead bullet that works best ?
I'd hate to buy a batch of 500 bullet only to find they don't feed worth a darn.

I don't shoot a 1911 in 10MM, but I do shoot a couple of 1911's, and all I shoot is my lead reloads. The 10MM is the same bore size as the 40S&W, and there are several lead bullets on the market. I shoot 180 and 200 grain flat points in my 40S&W. As far as finding the best bullet for your gun, sometimes it trial and error.

I stay with the "TC" Turncated Cone designs and stay away from the "SWC" Semi Wad Cutter types.

I have the Lyman 175 gr TCBB mould that I cast mine with and they work very well thru all my 10's and 40's

I use the truncated cone design in my autos.

Never had a problem in my .40 S&Ws, or my Colt 1911 in .45ACP.

I shoot a lot of 180 LaserCast 10mm's. I use there max load of AA7 normally on the 180's and Max load of Universal or AA9 (mostly AA9) on the 200's.

Very reliable and accurate.
