My wife took the NRA gun safety course then got her ccp, she is taking my shield with the green ct laser. She is left handed and wants an OWB holster that is a cross draw, she also wants it canted so that it doesn't hang down that far. Have been burning up the net checking but not having much luck - any ideas? Have been checking new compacts for me and keep coming back to the shield, but want one without the laser.

I don't think crossdraw is a good idea as you sweep a to large a area with the muzzle when you draw. There for you are pointing it at a lot of things you do not want to destroy.

I don't like crossdraw holsters, unless driving or sitting a lot, to me is to easy for the BG to get the gun.

Sometimes you don't have a lot of choice, and how to draw without "sweeping" is a training issue.
As far as a holster goes, there a bunch of companies out there that can do a cross draw, or have holsters that can be worn that way. First she needs to decide on leather, Kydex or other material, and attachment type, belt, paddle, clip, etc.
I use a leather custom from Adams Leather Works, and a Blackhawk, right hand cross draw. The leather one was built with a slight reverse cant, and the Blackhawk can be adjusted to almost a 45 degree cant on the belt, great for sitting and driving.
Some people don't like the Blackhawk because of the release, but I draw from it the exact same way as I do my leather, index straight and stiff along the frame, and it stay there.
Here's a partial list of places I've check into. Usually if the Kydex places don't list cross draw, you can e-mail them and they will work with you.
Good luck.

Simply Rugged and Wright Leather Works make a three-hole pancake that can be worn at different angles. Although, I'm not sure they can make that model for such a small pistol.

Wright makes a cross draw called the "Regulator" Just make sure you tell them Left Handed. I have carried my Shield in one of their "Predators" for over two years and the fit and retention are still spot on. Their craftsmanship is first class. They make the holster for Shields with three different lasers, check their list. You won't find a better holster.
