Recommendations? Thinking about just going with the factory ones from smith.

I am a lefty M&P45 owner. I recommend the Desantis Speed Scabbard. I paid only a little over $50 for mine and it is very well made.

I have an M&P .45 on layaway and I too am interested in a lefty OWB holster for this weapon. Keep you recommendations coming please. :)

I am using the Galco Yaqui Slide Belt Holster for Lefties. It works with the 45, 9, 9c and 22. Nice simple leather.

FYI it is slightly generic and requires about 24 hours break-in by [per Galco instructions] wrapping the gun with three or four freezer bags and putting it in the holster and then binding it down with the two fitment screws. After that it fits like a glove.

I shoved the M&P9 in with the bags and left it for a week while I was on a business trip. Came back and it was perfect.

I really like the Galco Speedmaster, carries high and tight to body and very quick to draw from. Easy to conceal and the weapon presents naturally to target when drawn.

I know some people don't like long waits but I cannot recommend anyone else more than I do the guys and their gear at Raven Concealment.

Raven Concealment Systems

I have several of their holsters, their Modu-Loader shotgun system and several more mag pouches on order...and even more in the future. They do have a 'quick ship' option for the M&P9/40 full-size holsters which should fit the M&P45 like a glove...in fact I'm using a Raven made specifically for a 5" M&P40 and my 4.5" M&P45 slides right in.

I'm using a Galco Royal Guard for IWB and have a Peters Custom IWB on the way as well. I've carried a G17 and a 1911 in Peters Customs with great results. My next holster for my M&P 45 will be a Safariland ALS 6377. Our Detectives carry that and it seems to be the best for OWB with some retention built in vs simple friction kydex. Are you planning on just daily concealed carry or double duty with IDPA etc? Some of the other recommendations also hold alot of merit. Be sure that you order for the 45 as its larger than the 9/40s (ask me how I know).

For myself, I like the Don Hume line. For the price an quality you cant go wrong !
