Short story: I was like 6-7 Left Handed and could not carry my Mattel Springfied in my left hand. It kept hitting my holstered Fanner 50. So while shooting Indians off the neighbors roof I decided to shoot the rifle right handed. That was cool holding the rifle in my right hand it did not bother the holstered pistol.
Thats how I started shooting rifle right handed and pistol left handed. Problem is I am right eye dominant. I always could shoot and reload pistol or revolver right handed but never really tried to draw right handed. I actually shoot better right handed (uh with less EYE strain).
I just recently started writing right handed also and its more clear. So I was thinking of getting a right handed holster and learning to draw and reload right handed for IDPA. Any of you ever switch from left to right. How did it work out for you?

Legend has it that Rob Leathem was born a left-hander but trained to shoot handguns righty. This of course is more convenient since most handguns favor righty. Also, when the stage requires support hand only you have an advantage. Try it...might work.

I'm teaching myself to shoot left handed.
Been going for three months now. It's near normal for me.

It is important to practice all versions. One day you might be in a situation where you can't use your dominant eye and/or your strong hand in a fight.

It pays off in the hunting fields too!

I have lost the central vision in my right dominate eye and am now trying to learn to shoot left handed. I can shoot pistols with both eyes open and shoot right handed but a rifle I need to shoot from my left shoulder.:(

I'm a lefty.
I shoot pistol with either hand, but prefer left.
I can bat either hand.
Rifle and shotgun?
Shooting either with my right hand feels alien to me.
