I have a nickel plated lemon squezzer, serial number 22230, 3 inch barrel with wood grips and would like to know of any history regarding this particular revolver.

A 38 Safety Hammerless with a serial number of 562 would be a 1st model. The factory produced 5000 1st models in 1887. It is an antique and though not rare, it is the least common of the 32 and 38 Safety hammerless models. Depending on condition and barrel length you could assign a value of anywhere from $250 to around $1500 for the most common 3 1/4 inch. If it is a 38 SH with a factory original 6 inch barrel the value could go well up into 5 figures. An original 38 1st model box which is a very rare item will increase the value by $1000 to $1500 assuming it is in good shape.
