LEO Revolver Carry?

A lot of smaller Departments, ten or less employees, still require employees to supply their own firearms.

So I am not surprised when I am in Mayberry or Petticoat Junction and the local cop is packing a revolver.

I still know a lot of guys, my son included that carry a 2 in on their leg, in their pocket or IWB.That 5 or 6 shot is one of the best partners an LEO no matter from what era can or could have.

Sorry if I'm off-topic but when you renew a CC permit here in Illinois you have to re-qualify.
I was in a big class. There was only one other person shooting a revolver. Some old(er than me) guy who carried a NAA mini-revolver.
So out of the 40-ish people there, I was the only revolver shooter.

I was both the oldest person present and the only revolver shooter at my last qualification. The range officer stood behind me for the first string to "keep an eye on me". By the time we got back into the classroom he was gushing to the group about how I had qualified with a snubby. I was embarrassed I had dropped one round into the 7 ring.

The last sworn officer that I knew that carried a revolver was about 15 years ago. Not talking about a second or off duty gun here!

He was a city officer that patrolled a outlying area that had lots of deer. Many were vechicle hit and needed to be put out of their suffering. He explained his case to higher ups and was allowed to carry his personally owned .357! He was a gun guy and not impressed with the issue 9MM.
