Lessons learned from the recent Guns/Ammo Shortage

After the sixties you could see where this was headed. JFK, Robert, Martin, Riots, Kent State and Chicago 68. Both parties seek to infringe on the U.S. Constitution. "We the People" have lost control of our Republic.
Both parties seek to get elected..... period. The reason is so they can pass laws that line the pockets of those who they are in bed with. It's no more complicated than that, they align with issues they believe resonate with the people who they want to vote for them.

Gun control is a natural issue for the dems because it dovetails into the standard liberal package (pass enough laws and you can create a perfect world where nobody has any rights).

I think few people realize just how little the repub party actually care about gun control, in fact it's an issue they inherited by default since they have to oppose whatever the dems support. Truth is the repubs (like all politicians) are scared of an armed electorate and prefer them defenseless. The gun rights issue for the repubs is a "talking issue" which is to say they use it to bait people into following them but they never actually do anything about it. Tax cuts for billionaires, tax cuts for business, subsidizing oil pipelines, etc... top of the list. Our gun rights? Not even on the radar.

If you'd all indulge me for a moment, I'd really like to suggest that you read this little vignette by Kurt Vonnegut which was written back in 1961.

It's called "Harrison Bergeron" and it will take (literally) five minutes or less to read but it is very powerful.

Unless I miss my mark, I think you'll find it as prophetic a read as I have for these many years.

For once I've got plenty.....

For once I've got plenty of cases in all calibers.

Remember that no primers just about put us out of business.

Powder is available. I'm going to take advantage of it.

Jacketed bullets - Even if they are available, what you want may not be. My closest LGS has a big long shelf full of bullets in every caliber. Just not what I want or need.

Cast bullets - If demand gets high, waiting times get pretty long, months in fact.

I reload so when I go to the Store to buy supplies I always buy a box of 100 rounds of CCI 22 long Rifle Mini Mags.
I now have more 22's than some Stores.
Funny thing is Wal-Mart by My House claims They cant get any 22's but the other Stores I shop at always seem to have plenty.

I learned to keep reloading components on hand, more then you think you need. I learned to use other powders than i normally used. I learned never to pass up a chance to pee. I learned it does no good to complain, if you really want ammo or components you'll pay to good rate.

My local Cabela's was out of .22 LR on Tuesday. :o I didn't mind that so much but they were also out of the centerfire pistol ammo that I went there for. Could have just been a bad day for me or it could be a sign of rougher waters ahead. Who knows?

I haven't seen any at any wm here for over 2 weeks. Dunno whats going on?
