Let's See Some Back Yards!

Definitely lacks the 'WOW' factor.....straight outta the back door.

arjay what elevation are you at? Your pics gave me altitude sickness...beautiful scenery.

I'm at only 5,400' now. Those pix were all within an hour of my last house which was near the edge of the foothills. The snowy peak and the old station are probably 11,500' and the rest are between 9000'-10,000'
I'm still trying to figure out where the lake near Paradise Road is lol

... upper Beaver Brook reservoir...in what used to be the Golden watershed...you need to hike a mile or so from the road to get to it...one of the sources of Coor's Rocky Mountain Spring Water...

...you're pictures of Corona on Rollins Pass...did you live near Tolland?...

My back yard is 19'x19' and half of that is concrete. Life in a condo! Living on farms 80% of my life set me up to be an outdoor guy. So I bike in warm weather and walk parks in winter. But my poor wife has to still work, so I take her for surprise picnics, and long drives in the country coming home from church.

It is so easy to get busy and resent all the time a back yard takes. But I can guarantee you will miss it when it's gone! (teardrops on my keyboard)

Ivan

You can come and play in my yard anytime.

Beaver Brook! I couldn't quite place it lol
I lived down in and around Boulder for 30 years or so and spent an awful lot of time fooling around up there and a few other spots.Never did figure out how to live up there, make a nice living and convince my city girl wife it was a good idea [emoji16]

...my wife and I lived in Denver the first couple of years we were married...she couldn't handle city life...so we arranged to rent the house she eventually inherited half interest in from her mother...

...when her parents had to move there due to her father's cancer diagnosis...we found our place farther up the hill...and have been here 36 years now...

...I commuted to Denver for a while...then started my dump trucking business up here...the winters are long...but the summers are glorious...just found out lately that our mean average temperature up here...the average temperature...day and night...through all four seasons...is 34 degrees...Brrrrr...glad I didn't know that sooner ;-) ...

Summer pic

Certainly beautiful in the summer other than the fight with the black flies in the spring and the mosquitos during the summer but you get used to that. The winter is a very different story.......thats when we head to Florida :)
