The New Year is almost here but 2015 was a very good year for my accumulation/collection. I hope it was for you as well. What is your one favorite "new" S&W for 2015. I found five really nice ones this year including a Pre Model 27 but there is one that has become my favorite. It's not the most valuable or even the one in the best condition. But it is the one that really gets me excited when I pull it out of the safe and take it to the range. It's my K frame, Model 15-4 with a 2 inch barrel and square butt stocks. I really love this gun.

Remember, you are supposed to pick your ONE favorite.

Let's See Your Favorite S&W from 2015

I'd been on the fence between a 460 and the 500. I decided on the 460 VXR due to its flexibility of round choices. I've put a couple hundred 45 Colts thru it along with some 454 Casulls and 460's. Without a doubt, an incredibly fun gun to shoot - an "event" every time you pull the trigger!

Check out this frame from video .....

My favorite for the year is my RHKP Model 10. Not pristine by any means. Just has honest wear that gives it some character. You can tell it didn't live in a desk drawer.

my favorite (and the only Smith I bought in 2015)

:)would have to be this 617 dash nothing with a 4" barrel.
I put a Nikon 2X pistol scope on it and it will put 6 rds into a group at 25-30 yds all day long that can be covered with a nickel. (give me a break on the scope, I am 75 yrs old)

I don't know how to identify my FAVORITE Smith of the year. Picked up a beauty 25-15, at April show. 13-2 under 50 rounds fired at Sept. show. Last Monday, a S&W 1911, that was found on Armslist. Can't wait to shoot it! Bob

I've added several awesome pieces this year...but I think my favorite was finding my Model 29 no dash with box and tools....it was at Cabela's. Old man came in the day before and said he bought it new and rarely got it out of the safe since day one. Says he kept the original box in the plastic case, along with the original stocks that he took off shortly after he bought it.

Told them he had no family to pass it on to and had stage 4 cancer. He said he hoped it went to someone who would appreciate it.

It sure did, sir.

Here's how it was when I found it...

Hey Leatherhead 23,
Now that Md 29 with box, tools was a fabulous find. Congratulations. I love the fact that the owner protected the box by putting it in a plastic case. Wow.

Also, I wonder why the stocks were replaced. Aren't they exactly the same except for being non diamond?

Also, I have to ask. Did the jelly beans come with the package?

This has been such a HUGE S&W year for me it is hard to pick just one. So many fantastic opportunities presented themselves and fortunately I was able to figure out how to pay for most of them (Community college is OK for kids these days, right).

This year, 20 Smith and Wessons have moved into my house so far and the year is not over yet. Who knows what will happen in the next few weeks. A few days before New Years 2015 I found a fantastic color case hardened model 15 McGivern Special, it transferred to me on December 31st 2014

This year I found a nickel model 15 McGivern Special with my birthday as the serial number

While I had converted a few firearms to 356TSW over the years, at the start of 2015 I did not own any factory 356 TSW guns......Now I have 6, 5 of them from a single estate sale. This included 3, YES THREE, Performance Center 940 Specials :) Plus there was a Factory original 20 round 356TSW magazine, I had no idea these even existed

The 356TSW that was not part of the estate was produced by the Perfomance Center with two top ends, one in 356TSW and a second in 40S&W. The safety levers are different so that they can be easily told apart

I came across a model 50 that might be unfired, in it's original box. From the same source as the model 50, I bought a super, super clean pre-43. I found a 6904 that was set up as a Super 9. Then I found what appears to be a Shorty 357, the only 3rd generation 357SIG I have ever seen. I am still researching this one's origin.

I lucked into one of the engraved, nickel plated model 45s that were part of the Smith and Wesson Factory collection until Tompkins raided the company for cash in the 90s and sold the collection off.

I had a pawn shop, 300 miles from me, call while they were buying a factory Class A+ Special Engraved Limited Edition model 649 from the first day of production. I bought it from them over the phone based on cell pictures. Unfired since leaving the factory and wearing genuine Ivorys

2015 has been a spectacular Smith and Wesson year for me

If I had to nail it down to just one favorite child.......It would probably be the Model 50. I have wanted one of these for a very long time
