Lets see your reloading benches

Well....I have improved my loading area/s. Now I have a dedicated shottie area and a center-fire area, plus I have upgraded my storage.

It works for me!

There's a stainless or aluminum cylinder with a valve on the bottom hanging from the ceiling. Just curious - What's that about?

It is stainless steel, you are correct! It is a shot hopper to load up the shot bottles on my shotshell loader (not pictured). Holds 75 pounds of shot and is on a pulley to lower it to the floor for easy loading of the 25 pound shot bags. Once it's in the overhead position, it's safety chained to the structure.

It simply connects to the top of the shot bottle and I don't need to refill it for quite some time. It's not really because I load that much, it's more that I don't/didn't like pouring the shot into the bottles at head-height.

This is what it looks like with the loader:

My Bench

Hello .357Mag Your new bench looks very neat and tidy.In fact all you guys have tidy benches. Mine is a complete mess by comparison. Check out my photo.

teasel were did you get that sweet magnifier glass. I need one in the worst way.

JC 85, Actually its not a magnifying glass but a mirror which I use to trim my beard. My bench doubles as beard trimming bench. Thats why its such a mess.

I’m pretty lucky to have a good size space for my gun room. The safe for the guns stays upstairs less humidity.

I have so much loaded ammo if the MSM showed up they would definitely call me a gun nut with a arsenal.

Just a simple bench, set-up for 357 right now, then behind me the "Good Stuff"

The Rockchucker has been replaced with a 550 since these pics, but the layout remains the same. The Rockchucker is mounted on a piece of plywood and clamped to the bench in the open area when needed.

The bench is an old piece of kitchen counter top on the cheapest under counter cabinets at the home store. Added a sheet of 3/4 inch plywood with a tube of construction adhesive for extra stiffening. Easy clean surface, lots of storage and solid as a rock. The presses are mounted off to the right to leave a large area for gun cleaning and miscellaneous tasks. The vise with soft jaws is used a lot more than you'd think on a reloading bench. The typing table holds my brass low to my right hand when using the presses, just the way I like it.

When not in use, the typing table stores in the knee hole of the bench.

Everyone needs a toilet immediate to the loading area ;)
Mine is almost as close. Getting old sucks.

That toilet has saved me a lot of stairs in the 35 years I've been in this house. I highly recommend a basement toilet to anyone contemplating new construction.

One thing that I noticed with everyones bench is that they all seem to be setup to handle loading while seated at a stool. When I made my benches, I designed them so that I would be standing with the top of the bench at 40". I find that it is a lot easier running the various presses when I'm standing with the added leverage. Does anyone else load standing?

I did untill I was 55, now I sit :D

Sitting to reload seems to be a necessity as old age comes storming in!

As far as a convenient toilet, the front porch seems to work well. ;)
