Lets see your reloading benches

I put a down payment on a 14'X32' replacement reloading building. I just seem to have outgrown my 10'X16'. ;)

Dick, there were glass containers and cans that had a key, similar to a sardine can, when paper was in short supply.

Near jar!! Was that instant?

No, it was ground coffee. Old Judge was roasted in St.Louis, but was eventually bought out in 1964 by Chock Full of Nuts. They sold 3 million pounds of coffee a month.

One thing that I noticed with everyones bench is that they all seem to be setup to handle loading while seated at a stool. When I made my benches, I designed them so that I would be standing with the top of the bench at 40". I find that it is a lot easier running the various presses when I'm standing with the added leverage. Does anyone else load standing?

I too prefer to reload standing, that's why I build a taller bench to accommodate the LnL & the 550b.

"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety"- Benjamin Franklin

I too stand while reloading. My bench is tall and works well for me. I did buy some of that foam/rubber/spongy matting to stand on which helps.

I remember those cans with the keys too. Coffee, potted meat, vienes, spam, all the delicies of life.

Reloading Dreaming

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and had been toying with the idea of reloading, wow you guys gave me some really great ideas as to how to set up my work shop. Currently space is an issue but when the basement becomes vacant I have some serious plans. Thanks again for some really great ideas.:)

I run my machine a few hours every other week or so and this makes all the ammunition I have time to shoot.
You guys manufacturing for sale or getting ready for the zombie apocalypse? :)

The wait for season 2 of The Walking Dead is-ahem-killing me!

Haven't been to this forum for a while. So I'll play. Yes I know I'm OCD. My memory is HORRIBLE so I have to make up for it by being organized. lol

Well, this is probably about it.................

No ultimatums from the frau, no threats from kids about their inheritance, nothing like that but....... I am about done buying reloading equipment.

Here is a picture of the room as she stands right now. Just added the second XL650, bought it used off of the net a few weeks ago. The one in the foreground is the first one I bought new. The one in the background is going to be set up for small primers.

The faithful Square Deal B in the middle of the back bench is going by by in the near future. Either being sold or given to one of the kids to get them started. The Lee Classic Cast Turret press on the back bench is staying too. That was a give from the wife and has sentimental value plus, it works great for small runs or working up loads.

I also have an old Herter's and RCBS "3" under there too. Those will both be going away too.

All of my main calibers I have dies for and can make do with the caliber changes I have by mixing and matching. I will have a short list for the family for Christmas gifts! :)

At any rate, get started reloading today and don't delay.

You will not regret it and I believe that will be in the very near future! ;)

Resurrection of an old thread.

Why? Because I forgot how beautiful some of these setups are...

My combination reloading / fly tying bench. This is an old pharmacy work bench that was being replaced from my place of work several years ago before I retired. Weighs well over 275#, 15 fully extendable drawers 18"x12"x4" deep

Usually not nearly as organized.

Here's mine

Here's my relaoding area! It's a 10 foot "L". Lots of storage and room to spread out, and it remains clean!

Then and Now

Amazing what a little time will do. These two photos were taken 18 months apart.
(Note the formulae on the board. From one .45 load to 10 loads in 4 calibers).
