Since I won't be the first to play a bit loose with the dates here, I'll post my 22 Combat Masterpiece from around 1951. The Masterpiece on the left was shipped to Abercrombie & Fitch in December 1947. Both have the original stocks.

The CM came to me through the generosity and thoughtfulness of a member of this forum, and it's a ridiculously accurate and good shooting gun. Like Bill's above it's in perfect condition for me--looks great but used enough to holster every once in a while and shoot at will!

Everyone loves the 18, and I love mine. I always wondered why the cheaper-to-make model 45 was never significantly produced.

There sure are a bunch of gorgeous CMs in this thread. I have only one, and technically it is not a Model 18. K22 Combat Masterpiece, 4 screw, shipped in April, 1957. I bought it just a tad more than 4 years ago. It cost me $535 at the time, which I thought was reasonable then. In today's market, I think I bought it cheap...

Love my S&W .22s. :D

Left and center on the bottom row are a pair of 18-3s.
The center gun is a 1977 model just as S&W made them.
The left gun is from 1974 and was modified by a previous owner. RR, WO, smooth face trigger and a wonderful action job. I added the Uncle Mike's Combat grips. This is my DA practice gun. I shoot this more than any other gun I own. ;)

Count me as a fan, but I have no photo. My 1953 model looks like most of the others, but has a target hammer. A terrific shooter.
