Just put the first 60 rounds through my 9mm Shield and have a few questions about sights. Below is the first target. All shots are impacting about 3" to 4" low and about 2" to 3" left (the top of the target is marked and the point of aim is indicated as the black arrow on the 8 in the upper right corner). I am not worried about the "left" as every handgun I have ever purchased shoots just like this to the left until I drift the rear sight (in the direction I want the bullet to impact). Not a single handgun has centered sights. It is just the way my eyes are. My question is how do I adjust for the impact being low? Shorter front sight? Is this available? These are at about ten yards and sight picture is center of dot on target.

You are anticipating the recoil and causing your shot to be low left, quite common. I do the same from time to time.

I am sure others will be here soon to suggest drills and dry fire practice to minimize site upset during the trigger squeeze.

I would suggest before you move your sites, shoot from a rest of sand bags. Mine was low left, shooting from a rest it was dead on!!!
Nothing to do with your skills but If your like me and used to shooting full size handguns, it takes a little practice to master the little pistol!!!

So why do I not shoot any other handgun this way? Not to mention the rear sight (from the factory) is off-set to the left.

^^^ Usually, this. ^^^
People transitioning from Full/Compact pistols to Subcompacts, regardless of Brand (Nano, DB9, LC9, PF-9) often report Low-Left problems on the various forums. Partially due to recoil, partially due to the difference in grip size.
The rear sight being a bit to the left COULD contribute a bit to being off laterally, but not shooting low... and Low-Left problems usually go together.

First, try some different ammunition - particularly something with 147-gr bullets, which should shoot higher than lighter bullets. If several types all do the same thing, I'd ask to send the gun back to Springfield for rehab. My Shield 9 shoots quite a bit high. I asked for some help with this (10/21/13) and so far have received nothing from them other than written acknowledgement of my request. I think S&W is backed-up so badly right now that they are not bringing guns in for service until they can clear up the backlog. I probably should have tried to call. Just emailed my concern - and probably got put "in line." :)

I would say that it's not the pistol.....no matter which one your shooting from what you have stated above. If all of your pistols sights need to be drifted its something your doing.

Your Shield group is 3" x 4" and 4" low.... From seeing several others shoot my Shield and seeing similar results...and then shooting the same pistol myself with zero issues...it's shooter issues. Not sight and or pistol issues.
