Been carrying a PF9 Keltec ...it has and is a great gun having never had a FTF, FTL or FTE ...but like many small light weights a soft handhold or limp wrist got it and others a bad rep.

But to drain the swamp and to address the title ...I could not pass on the $244/MP9 shield

A tad bigger than the PF9 but not a lot ...I wear mostly Levi jeans with some Wranglers and Lees thrown in ...So Ive been a front pocket carry guy for years ...in and out or off trucks, tractors,UTV's,combines etc.

The good news ...my now week old ownership of my MP9 Shield has gone smooth as silk ...just slipped the M&P into the pocket holster I once carried my Keltec in ...drop it in my right front Levi jean pocket every morning and life is good ....this morning I happened to grab a a pair of Wranglers....whoa up cowboy ...I might get it in ...barely ...but not in a million years get it OUT combat effective

In measuring pockets of all my brands of jeans ...Levis are as much as 25% larger in all dimensions ...I can draw the M&P leaving the holster in the pocket ..slick n easy out of every pair of Levis I own and zero out of my Wranglers, lee and no names!

SO ....next jean buy ...know the few extra $$ for Levis over other brands is going to add to your CCW options.

FYI

I'll admit, I'm a true-blue, dyed-in-the-wool Wrangler man. Why?

Well, first off, they're made in the USA and not in some sweat shop in Biafra by an 8-year-old little girl named Qwang.

Second, Wranglers original cowboy-cuts cost about $25.00 (they were $19.00 dollars until a few years ago) and Levi 501's are $59.98 on sale at J.C. Penny's. That's more than twice the cost.

Of course, I realize that wasn't your point. It was ease of access to your firearm. I've never considered front pocket pants carry as an option, so I guess we're both okay.

Congrats on finding what works for YOU. For me, it's just the opposite. None of the Levi Relaxed fit jeans work for me, but I have no problem accessing my Shield in Relaxed Fit Wranglers.

This is why everyone needs to do their own shopping and check the possibilities in the dressing room before buying.

If you're a Costco member their Kirkland brand jeans work very well and are inexpensive. Give them a try.

If it fits, looks good and affordable I buy them. Levi's, Wrangler, Old Navy, and others

I favor Orvis or Eddie Bauer kaki pants with deep pockets: best thing going for pocket carry.

I can't stand low rise jeans, or as my wife calls them "pube pants", so I've been buying Carhartt B237 carpenter jeans. They're 15 oz, not the usual 10 or 12 oz fabric, full rise, nice big pockets, nine belt loops, big brass zipper, loose fit. My P238 or P938 fit just fine in a leather pocket holster, rt. front pocket, and spare magazine and pocket knife fit in each of the rule pockets.

Uh... are you aware that Levi is an extremely liberal, anti-gun company which contributes large amounts of money to our enemies?

There are just certain things in life, that I have to let slide. As painful as it may be (to some), I'll wear Levis forever. Can't stand Wrangler, except for the jackets.

BTW--- I'm a right wing conservative. I'll be calling my liberal brother on his birthday next week. We might argue for hours, but not sure if there will be any Levi versus Wrangler.

Finally someone I can agree with. Used to be a Levi's only guy but the cost, quality, and company attitude towards firearms had me look for an alternative. Which is Carhartt, like their coats, shirts and pants, jeans and cargo. Doesn't hurt a bit that they are also based in the Metro Detroit area and still do some manufacturing here. BTW since I stated hitting the gym 2 times a day I go through a lot of T shirts in a week and can state based on my experience that NO OTHER BRAND of T shirt lasts as long as a Carhartt.

PS; I carry a Ruger LC9S Pro in my right front pocket every day and it's no problem at all to slip the pistol into or out of my pocket with the holster in place and in practicing with an unloaded pistol drawing it is as smooth as silk.

My 640 in its Sticky holster disappears nicely in the front pocket of my Carhartt Double-Fronts and still leaves plenty of room for my hand.

I'm a Wrangler guy, mostly because they are cheap but also because they fit me well.
Years ago (about 1988) I was thinking of joining the Coast Guard. I bought a documentary book about the Coast Guard. I still remember one passage by a Coastie in San Fransisco, his favorite jean is Levi, because Levis are the only ones that don't split apart when a jumper (off of the Golden Gate bridge) hits the water.
