Life after retirement...

With all my work related ailments I'm still glad I made it. Feels good to get back some of what I paid in.

And I can relate to the chart. Do what you want and when you want and no one telling you to do it, except the better half which can be worse then working. When working I never stayed up till 1-2 am and got back up at 7 and wasn't tired. Retirement is great everyone needs to get there as soon as they can.

I wake up at 5 AM every day and have to get up, too much to do. The laundry, the errands, the coffee shop groups, the breakfast groups, the skeet league, the trap league, the bullseye league. Last summer I hardly had time to go fishing. Of course there's the 2-3 hours a day on the S&W Forum. Of course you have to work in that little nap every afternoon, then it's happy hour and before you know it's dinner time.

Retirement isn't the end of your life as some think. It's the next chapter of our lives so don't prolong it, embrace it. Accept it, breathe it, live it, enjoy it.

I have more fishing tackle than a mom and pop bait shop. I have new reels n rods that I expect to wear out next year. Or I'm going to try too. I buy every new fishing lure just to test it to see if it works.

I'm stocked up on target ammo too.

Retirement I hope there's enough time to enjoy it.

The misses is still working.

It's been real good! You gotta have a plan and know your limitations. :D:D:D

I apologize for missing your activity chart when I opened your thread. Don't know that I could keep up such a vigorous pace!

My gal is 20 years younger than I, divorced, and has a 14 y.o. son. I am always available and more than happy to help him with his schooling. I'm a de facto family member. If my lungs hold out, I'll be honored to see him through college. If they don't, his college has already been provided for. But please don't tell him yet.

There's more to me than just J-frames.

Life has never been better. No boss, able to do things when you want without having pressure to get it done and able to come and go as you please. Sleep comes easy without thinking what work is going to be done the next day. Yard work is no longer "get it done before the end of the weekend".

Best part is to go by where the crew is working and just stand an smile.

I am so looking forward to it. I'm hoping for 8 or 9 months from now. Like BigBill said, it's just a new chapter in life.

The only downside is if you have health issues. Changes the perspective. That aside, I never regretted retiring when I did at age 59.

Retired four times. Mostly self employed or consulting/contract work. Very small govt pension. Only set alarm on summer weekends for golfing
