I know it will take lee dies if that helps at all

The dies and the powder delivery system may, or may not be related.

The Little Dandy is primarily designed for charging primed cases while still in the loading block, which is used mainly during single stage reloading. It's size and simplicity of operation is what sets it apart from other measures. The cost of individual rotors is what has almost killed it, hence the need for my adjustable unit. Hopefully I can single handedly save the Little Dandy from extinction. (yea, right)......

I received the Lil' Dandy adjustable rotor a few days ago and just got around to thoroughly testing it yesterday. Now I have to comment.

That thing is a positively brilliant device and it works great. First I measured charges of Win 231 and they were all accurately dispensed. Next was 5.0 grains of Unique for some Luger loads. Being a flake powder there was that familiar "catch" when turning the rotor just like with the factory issued rotor but there was no problem. Bailey's rotor threw the charges with +/- .1 grain accuracy (most were exact weight) for 50 charges; thats good enough for me.

I am extremely pleased; just wish it had been introduced several years ago so I could have saved a bunch from buying the RCBS chargers.

Charlie, thanks for the good review. As I stated earlier I have been using the prototype for quite a while before releasing it on anyone else. You're correct about the flake powders and that familiar "catch" but it just goes with the territory...... The things we do for Unique.....

I think the RCBS is the newer version of the Pacific but not sure... I was going to make up some additional rotors for my Pacific but if you have an adjustable, that would be even better. I'll try to get a close pic of the Pacific and rotor measurements this evening but could you provide the diameter and length of the RCBS rotor that fits inside the body of the measure? If it does fit the Pacific it would be good for you to know - there are still a bunch of them out there.

Thanks GPC, I'm hoping it solves a lot of issues with a fine product that just wasn't thought all the way through.....

Antietamgw, .807 x 2.250....... Same size as the original rotors, see how it compares and please let me know.... Thanks

There are merits to the fixed rotor system, and there are merits to your adjustable rotor. For me, I like that I can tweak the throw-weight in your LDAR, but once I've found a load that I like, I'd like to never have to mess with it anymore.

Of course, with different lots of the same powder, I might have to tweak it anyways--for instance, I found that one lot of W231 was throwing 3.7gr, while a different lot threw 3.6gr in the same rotor. So either I would have to make up the extra 0.1gr with a powder trickler, or I could take the time to make the adjustments in the LDAR.

After using the LDAR for the past few weeks I've grown to like it. It's well-made and pretty well thought-out, and definitely a worthwhile investment.

Thanks, Bailey.
