Living with heart failure

Been dealing with cardiologist the past few years. I'm on my 3rd. First one retired, second one was fired by me because he couldn't keep timely appointments. Third one seems nice enough. Something about irregular heart beat, A-fib, valve leakage and a bunch of other mumbo-jumbo about my breathing problems that I either forgot or ignored. I'm not young and have had a great life, though the loss of my wife and daughter continue to weigh heavily upon me. Should I delay rejoining them by following a bunch of rules and changing my life? The jury hasn't decided that yet.

Sorry I can't offer any advice. Enjoy what you have for as long as you can. As Jim Morrison sang, no one gets out alive. So far, he's been right.

Thanks everyone for the advice and the great encouragement. I feel much better about my situation. The fluid pill low salt and no alcohol have me down to 220# this morning. I’ve been tracking what I eat the last two days and I’m hitting right at 700 mg of salt. I’m headed over to work today to talk to a group of pipe welding students, who are coming for a tour. Pizza for lunch.

I had to look that up. With the xarelto I don’t have to do that.

I switched from Xarelto back to Warfarin. I don't mind at all. Every 5-6 weeks I go in to be pricked. It usually takes about 15 minutes, in and out. We also use it as a planned pub date. We will sit and enjoy an early dinner with tea for Ruthie and pints for me.

We look forward to it.

There is a little book called Living Well With Heart Failure by Krames.
I refer to it frequently. Good information if you have heart failure.
Google the title and author to get one. They are only about six bucks.
